IB.SH Entrepreneur Award for Manuela Görcke from Kiel Claudia Valder, Flintbek is IB.SH Newcomer

“Manuela Görcke, Managing Director of OTHEB GmbH in Kiel, wins the IB.SH Entrepreneur Award 2019, sponsored by Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein (IB.SH), under the patronage of Economics Minister Dr. Bernd Buchholz and IHK Schleswig-Holstein President Friederike C. Kühn. IB.SH Chairman Erk Westermann-Lammers presented the prizewinner today (17 May 2019) with prize money of 5,000 euros and a sculpture by the renowned Schleswig-Holstein artist Volker Tiemann in a festive evening event at the Colosseum in Lübeck. Minister of Equal Opportunities Sabine Sütterlin-Waack, who took part in the ceremony, pointed out that the awarding of the prize is an important and motivating signal to women in the country who already run or want to found a company. “Considering the demographic development Schleswig-Holstein will need in the future clearly more entrepreneur inside and female high-level personnel. The use of women’s potential therefore plays an important role. The aim of the state government is to support and strengthen the potential of women as founders and entrepreneurs,” said the Minister.

B.SH CEO Westermann-Lammers explained: “With the IB.SH Women Entrepreneurs Award we want to make successful women from Schleswig-Holstein visible – so that they serve as role models and other women are motivated to assume entrepreneurial responsibility as well. Manuela Görcke and all other applicants are strong role models for this. In addition, the “IB.SH Newcomer” award was presented for the first time this year in order to include promising female entrepreneurs as well as established female entrepreneurs. Claudia Valder, Managing Director of Systema Natura GmbH, Flintbek, was awarded the title “IB.SH Newcomer 2019”. 62 women had applied for the IB.SH Women Entrepreneurs Award. Friederike C. Kühn, commented: “This is an extremely positive response. An entrepreneur interior price is very important for Schleswig-Holstein. It strengthens existing and motivates future female entrepreneurs to become active and visible here in Schleswig-Holstein”.
